It does a body good

“Antique Milk Bottles”
Hand painted in oil on archival panel
8 x 10 inches
20.3 x 25.4 cm
original: not for sale at this time

This painting is complete. The two antique milk bottles came from Klondike dairy farm in North Carolina. I’m originally from Wisconsin, which is the dairy state. Some of my relatives are dairy farmers and others are retired dairy farmers (but they are not all dairy farmers). I did spend some time as a child at a couple of those farms and these bottles remind me of them. Well, I had a lot of fun making this painting even though I was interrupted by a lot of things in the process. I hope anyone reading this has enjoyed my “in progress” postings to this blog. I don’t think I’ll do “in progress” postings all that often.

Interesting to read you probably won't opt for "in progress" postings. I'd be interested to know why. Also interested in why the progess was posted. The finished work is beautiful.

Hi John,

You have a great work of art here.
What most called my attention were the convincingly realistic reflections on the table.

Best regards,

José

Very nice John. I'm a realist painter aswell (seascape artist at the moment). I see you're interested in Photo-realism. If you're interested, hop on over to my blog and have a read of my latest post on the subject. I'd be very interested to hear your story. You're very welcome!

Outstanding!!!I love your work, myself being an artist striving for realizm. Although in what I do I can't go crazy with to much detailing (time is money;) I belive that one day I'll be able to show what I'm 'made of'. Keep up good work!
